  • About Optimal Outcomes OT

    Optimal Outcomes OT is a paediatric occupational therapy practice based on the beautiful Mornington Peninsula.


    At Optimal Outcomes OT, occupational therapy assessments and intervention sessions are offered to children and teenagers aged 2 - 16 years at the clinic or at their childcare, kindergarten or school.


    Assessments to inform the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder are also available.

    Optimal Outcomes OT aims to make occupational therapy an enjoyable experience. We work with you and your child to identify their interests and then draw upon this knowledge to design and provide personalised therapy that is engaging, positive and constructive.

    To enable children to participate and enjoy everyday activities, at Optimal Outcomes OT, we work with you and your child to establish the skills necessary to achieve personalised therapy goals.

  • Empower

    Optimal Outcomes OT strives to empower your child by ensuring the sessions build the skills necessary to reach their potential and have direct transfer to learning and real life.

Vanessa Richards is an occupational therapist and owns Optimal Outcomes OT. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Registration number: OCC000250949 and holds a current Working with Children Check.













ABOUT VANESSA

Vanessa is an occupational therapist and owns Optimal Outcomes OT. She is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Registration number: OCC000250949 and holds a current Working with Children Check.


Vanessa graduated from La Trobe University in 1992 as an Occupational therapist. She later completed a Master of Teaching at the University of Sydney in 2012 and a Master of Special Education (Inclusive and Special Education) at Monash University in 2016.


In addition to her work as an Occupational Therapist, Vanessa has held Leading Teacher positions in both primary and secondary schools.


Her background as both an OT and a teacher has given her a deep understanding of child development, the establishment of short and long term life goals and a range of effective strategies to achieve those goals.


Vanessa is an active member of Occupational Therapy Australia and is a regular participant in the following special interest groups:


  • National paediatric OT
  • Mental health Victoria
  • Neurodivergent affirming practice
  • Animal assisted practice
  • Yoga mindfulness and body based movement

Peaches is a beautiful, almost 3 year old Golden Retriever. She is like a giant teddy bear and loves cuddles and playing.

ABOUT PEACHES

Peaches is a beautiful, almost 3 year old Golden Retriever. She is like a giant teddy bear and loves cuddles and playing.


Peaches is currently undergoing training to become a certified dog for animal assisted therapy. She will then be available to work with children who would be more engaged and achieve greater progress towards their goals with her support.


Her favourite activities are to: swim at the beach, chase tennis balls and go for drives in the car. She also loves to play with her doggy friends.
